What is IDEX 2023?
IDEX stands for the International Defence Exhibition and Conference. This year’s IDEX 2023 will be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 20 February to 24 February 2023. Taking place biannually, it is the only International Defence Exhibition and conference in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
The key objective for this trade show is to demonstrate the latest technology across air, land and sea sectors of defence. It offers attendees a platform to build and strengthen relationships and rapport with government departments, armed forces and businesses around the region.
Where will the Shoes For Crews’ stand at IDEX 2023 be?
Shoes For Crews will be represented at IDEX 2023 by Don Watros (Shoes For Crews CEO), Stephan Huber (General Manager Europe), Fabien Coratti (Channel Director – Industrial and Agriculture), Sven Wennemers (Key Account Manager – Industrial and Agriculture) and Ricardo Montes de Oca (Key Account Manager HORECA).
Trade show attendees will be able to find us at our stand in hall 4, Booth 04-A22. There attendees can find our team equipped with QR-coded business cards to access our 2023 Buyer’s Guide, the M.A.P.S. footwear range, product demonstrations and consultations. They also have the opportunity to talk to our experts about our M.A.P.S. range and show how Shoes For Crews’ tactical boots can benefit their teams. If they are interested in specific products they will be able to speak to sales staff, test out the products, place orders and make appointments.
What does the M.A.P.S. range include?
At Shoes For Crews, our mission is to keep teams and crews safe on the job with comfortable and durable footwear solutions while reducing the risk of slips and trips.
We developed our M.A.P.S. line to offer Army crews supportive and protective tactical boot options. Military personnel know that every second counts on their watch. That is why we have designed safety boots that give excellent levels of comfort with a highly resistant outsole.
Because our shoes must continue to meet the highest standards of durability and safety, we have decided to continuously adapt our processes and review them annually. We are converting our entire footwear range into a more sustainable range and moving forward we aim to use 100% recycled PET bottles for our microfibre uppers. We are also in the process of testing recycled leather options for future incorporation.
Styles such as Defense and Guard are perfect for military squads, personnel and unit leaders. They will help support the feet during long shifts, changing surfaces and throughout all the twists and turns of the day. Available in mid or high styles, whichever style best complements the team’s uniform. The Delvin style, available later in the year, offers a lightweight frame, puncture resistant toes and 200g of cold insulation. Our Carrig (Low, Mid and High) style is metal free and provides excellent breathability and water resistance with its combination of leather and mesh materials.

We will be debuting the latest improvement to our patented slip-resistant outsoles: The Four Seasons Grip (4SG). It has excellent performance properties on dry and frosted ice. It even exceeds industry standards and slip resistance results of recognized competitors. It will protect your military teams from slips, trips, and falls in all seasons and all weather conditions, thus proving to be very versatile boots. We are excited to be able to bring this type of slip-resistant technology to future Army staff and significantly reduce their risk of injury while on the job.
